My friend Jordan is getting married in just about a year.
Before I get into too much detail, let me preface with the fact that she is a fun, smiling person who I really enjoy being around. She is also REALLY pretty, and I've had the opportunity to photograph her and her family on two separate occasions. Here's where "Project: Jordan" comes into play.
She has been discussing recently how she'd like to get into shape for her wedding. And it wasn't really just that- she'd been looking for a reason to get into shape anyway for a while. She's not obese. She's just like any average American who doesn't really work out (but nearly always intends to!), and probably eats a little more fast food than home-cooked goodness. We're all pretty much there. And I figured that everyone needs a little motivation to get to where they want to be.
This is a recent photo of Jordan and her fiancee (that I stole from her facebook).
My idea, then, is simple. We will do one "real" photoshoot a month for the next 12 months until her wedding. During those months, she will be logging her diet changes, exercises, and simple daily activities that will help her to her goal. And, on the flip side, I'll have a great 12 month project with someone who I know is a good model! It's a win-win.
Anyhow, her first project was simple. Eliminate all but one soda (or sugary drink) per day and keep a food log. Her food log is here:

The actual goal? Not a specific weight. Just to make simple life-changes that will make her feel better about herself and awesome for her wedding. :)
This is the beginning. Her first photoshoot is coming soon!
